Our Libby Lavender Collection Box contains one of our gorgeous 3 Wick Candles with a burn time of up to 90 hours, and a beautiful 200ml Reed Diffuser which lasts between 6 and 12 months, both in a scent of your choice (please select from drop down menu). All of our candles are hand poured in the UK using the highest quality mineral wax to ensure a clean and even burn. (Oak coasters not included.)

Woodchester Valley is a beautiful property situated in the Cotswolds, just 15 miles west of Cirencester in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The winery was established in 2007 by Fiona and Niall shiner and there are now 18 hectares of mainly south-facing, steep vineyards, on limestone soils. The fruit is all handpicked and then lightly pressed with a slow, cool fermentation to preserve the aromatics and fruit characteristics of the cool climate.

A charmingly well balanced sparkling rosé with delicate bubbles. This wine maintains subtle raspberry and toasted aromas which follow through and linger on the palate.

An optional extra to this box are our beautiful hand carved coasters made from locally sourced oak in the Cotswolds. They are made here in Cheltenham and are exclusive to us. Our oak coasters are beautifully made and complete the overall finish to make our products look stunning in your home. All designed to fit Libby Lavender products perfectly. (Coasters may vary in colour slightly due to the natural composition of the oak.) Please find our coasters under a seperate listing, as they are not included in this box.

All of our candles are produced with great care but the key to a perfect burning candle is not only how it is made but how it is burned.

Storing Candles

Always store candles in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight, as they are sensitive to temperature and light. This will avoid any damage to the structure of the wax, which could affect the way your candle performs.

Avoid Draughts

Candles burn best in still air. Draughts can cause a candle to smoke or burn unevenly. So make sure they are placed away from open windows and doors.

Wick Care

Before lighting always ensure your candle wick is trimmed to approximately 5mm and remove any “clubbing” on the wick. This will prevent the candle from smoking and ensure a better scent diffusion, whilst also reducing the size of the flame and avoiding possible thermal shock to the glass. Please make sure the wick is centralised at all times, if the wick becomes off-centre at any time, extinguish the flame.

Candle Memory

To get the best possible burn time from your candle, you will need to set the candle memory. The size of the wax pool on the initial burn sets the memory for the life of the candle. So when you light your candle for the first time, do not extinguish it until an even liquid wax pool has been created right to the edge of the glass, this can take between 3-4 hours. Your candle will then burn evenly all the way down. If you extinguish your candle before a complete wax pool has been formed “tunnelling” will occur and you will be left with an outer rim of wasted wax.

Wax Pool

Ensure the candle wax pool is clear of debris prior to burning. Match heads and wick remnants in the wax pool can lead to a candle flaring due to the debris igniting the wax, so remember to remove any wick debris from the candle before burning.

Extinguishing your candle

Always use a candle snuffer to extinguish your flame. Blowing out your candle is not recommended as the liquid wax may splatter and the wick may continue to glow and emit smoke.
Reed diffusers are now a must have home accessory creating beautiful, subtle and long lasting fragrance diffusion in any room. eg to help disguise odours in a more natural and consistent way than harsher chemical air fresheners. They are simple to look after but make sure you follow the safety instructions carefully.

How does a reed diffuser work?

The diffuser liquid is made up of scented oils and when the reeds are placed into the liquid, the oil is drawn up the channels which run the entire length of the reeds. e scent is then naturally dispersed into the air through evaporation. It will take between 24-36 hours for scent diffusion to occur and the larger the room, the less noticeable the scent will be.

How often should I turn the reeds?

You can revitalise the fragrance release by simply inverting the reeds every 2 weeks to ensure the delivery of fragrance remains. Occasionally reeds may clog and you will notice a drop in scent diffusion. If this occurs simply replace with new reeds.

How long will my diffuser last?

On average a reed diffuser should last for between 16-20 weeks but this will depend on many factors including the fragrance, type and number of reeds used, position of the diffuser in the home and seasonal temperature variations. You will find that diffusion slows down in cooler environments and increases with ambient temperatures in summer and it can also vary in each room dependent on air circulation. If you find your diffuser is diffusing too quickly simply reduce the number of reeds in the vessel.
